Larry Shine, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a single working man. Larry Shine has nine children. Larry Shine firs became a single father when his wife died, leaving him to care for his child, Henry Shine. Henry was only 2 and a half years old when his mother died of cancer.

Larry Shine wanted a sibling for Henry to play with. Shine started to adopt one child but before he could really stop himself, he had adopted seven children. Shine had a daughter born from a surrogate mother.

Shine is 61 and appreciative of the attention his family has gotten from Oprah Winfrey. Oprah featured Larry Shine and his family of nine kids in an episode. Oprah’s show with Larry Shine aired on Monday, April 13.
