Lane Kiffin: Lane Kiffin violated NCAA rule?

Lane Kiffin, the new coach for University of Tennessee (UT), may have broken a rule when he called up a recruit one day before he was announced as the Volunteers’ new coach.

VolQuest.com wrote a story to say Lane Kiffin and David Reaves, ex Gamecocks recruiting coordinator, called Jarvis Giles, Tampa’s running back, on Sunday, Nov. 30. Lane Kiffin and David Reaves reportedly left voice messages for Jarvis Giles.

Steve Spurrier, of South Carolina, an opposition coach, laughed at the possibility that Lane Kiffin had violated a NCAA rule. Spurrier said that every official should have passed the NCAA test to be able to qualify to recruit. Lane Kiffin has been accused of starting off on the wrong foot.
