Lance Armstrong responded to criticisms that he harmed Tour de France. Armstrong said he won Tour de France seven times in 7 straight consecutives wins. Armstrong emphasized he was checked for doping but had never been found guilty.

Lance Armstrong claimed there were checkers from the industry standards, media, spectators and sponsors. Armstrong challenged Jean-Etienne Amaury. Amaury is the present new president of the Tour de France’s main parent company, Amaury Sports Organization. Amauury made a controversial statement to the French newspaper, L’Equipe, “We cannot say that he has not embarrassed the Tour de France.”

Lance Armstrong has accused the critics like Amaury of trying to gain attention for themselves. L’Equipe claimed Lance Armstrong’s dope samples, kept since 1999 and tested retroactively, tested positive for EPO (erythropoietin).
