Ladettes in ladette culture blamed for ladette crime

By Clarencia Cynrae on October 22nd, 2009

The Ladette is the feminine form of the Lad, which is used in the UK. The Ladette Culture is the culture of brash, outrageous behavior that looks un-ladylike. One of the manifestations of the ladette culture is public drunkenness. Presently, Cardiff is trying to introduce measures to reduce ladettes engaging in drinking on the streets. Police have been given the power to confiscate alcohol and arrest anyone who resists the order.

Alcohol has been blamed for crime and anti-social behavior from youths. The “Designated Public Place Order” is a new power given to the bobbies (cops) to help bring the streets to order.

A recent survey found British school girls as the worst binge drinkers in Europe. Between 2003 to 2008, 648 school children were admitted into hospitals for drink related problems.
