Kristina Higgins, the former Miss Georgia 2009, gave up her beauty queen title and crown. The pragmatic Miss Higgins said she was busy with her job as a school teacher. Higgins would not have time to fulfill her duties as Miss Georgia. Higgins won the Miss Georgia beauty queen title on Saturday, June 27.

Kristina Higgins said she was busy working as a middle school teacher in Gwinnett County. Higgins’ crown went to Emily Cook, the runner-up. On Sunday, Emily Cook became Miss Georgia 2009.
