By Therese Lisieux on May 7th, 2009

Kevin Grubb, a driver with the Nationwide Series, has died. Grubb was found dead in Alpine Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Grubb’s cause of death has not been made public for now.

No foul play has been suspected in Grubb’s death.

Grubb was suspended from driving for Nationwide. Grubb was suspended on Sept 11 2006 after he was discovered to have violated NASCAR’s substance abuse policy. Grubb refused to take a drug test after he had an accident at the second lap and crashed in Richmond. A refusal to take the test meant Grubb failed the drug test.

The following day after his crash, Grubb offered to take the drug test and claimed he had no memory of having refused to take the test on the day he had the crash. Kevin Grubb claimed he had a head injury which affected his memory.
