Kevin Cogill arrested for leaking Guns N’ Roses songs from “Chinese Democracy”

By Angie Anthony on August 28th, 2008

Kevin Cogill, a blogger, of Culver City/ Los Angeles, was arrested by FBI. Kevin Cogill uploaded 9 songs to his website, antiquiet.com

Kevin Cogill’s posting was about the songs from Chinese Democracy, an album in the works by Guns N’ Roses. Guns N’ Roses had been working on Chinese Democracy for about 10 years. FBI has charged Kevin Cogill for copyright violations. One of the reasons why Guns N’ Roses frontman, Axl Rose took so long may be because his band members were rotated or changed so the input was changed. Guns N’ Roses’ record label sent a cease-and-desist letter to the website and Kevin Cogill, who worked under a pen name of Skwerl deleted the songs but FBI had already caught on and proceed with their prosecution.
