Updated November 7 – Lance Corporal Katrina “Kat” Hodge, the third in line for the Miss England contest, has been named as Miss England. Hodge, 22, succeeded Rachel Christie, 21, after she gave up her crown and title. Christie said she was giving up because of the press coverage of an alleged fight between herself and Miss Manchester, Sara Beverly Jones.

Lance Corporal Kat Hodge will be Miss England and represent the country in the Miss World contest in South Africa, in December 2009.

Updated September 7 2009 – Katrina Hodge has become a model for a day.

Katrina Hodge has been given a contract to front La Senza’s lingerie campaign. Hodge is promoting La Senza’s Armed Forces campaign, which gives a 15% discount to British service women and men. Hodge said she will remain a soldier. Hodge said she hoped more women will be attracted to join the army as a result of her high profile. Additionally, Hodge said she would like to see other retailers following La Senza’s example and offer discounts to Army personnel.

Katrina Hodge, also known as a squaddie in the British slang, had gone to Iraq on active duty. Katrina Hodge saved the lives of her fellow soldiers when she punched their captor and snatched away his guns. Katrina Hodge had already won the Miss Tunbridge Wells crown.
