Billy Joel and wife Katie Lee Joel have separated. Joel and Lee Joel were married for 5 years. The reps for Mr Joel and Ms Joel said the couple separated after much consideration The Joels separated amicably.

In May 2009, Katie Lee Joel was photographed dirty dancing with Yigal Azrouel, 36, a designer. Ms Joel and Azrouel were seen dancing in Miami in Jan 2009. Azrouel was heard referring to Ms Joel as his girlfriend.

Billy Joel’s spokesperson, Claire Mercuri, said the couple’s decision to separate was unrelated to Yigal Azrouel.
