Karel KGO radio: Karel fired after Joe the Plumber remark
By Clarencia Cynrae on November 6th, 2008Karel, a radio host at KGO radio in San Francisco, has been fired. Karel of KGO is also known as Charles Karel Bouley. Karel is based in L.A. Karel, a known gay activist, is a writer/ blogger for Huffington Post website.
Karel, on air on radio KGO, called for the death of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber. ( Joe the Plumber can be reached at his new website home, www.secureourdream.com) Karel also uses the name - Charles Karel Bouley.
Karel was reported to have said - “F__G__D__Joe the G__D__M__F__plumber! I want M__F Joe the plumber dead.”
(Source)
H.P. is a pro-Democrat website. This is the third time within a short time span of October - November 2008 that a Huffington Post writer has hit the national headlines. The other two writers were Carol Anne Burger and Philip Busse. You can use the search box to dig up the old posts on this website about these two Huffington Post writers. H.P. produces some fine literature from controversial writers.
Karel said that Proposition 8 was winning because of the money that was being poured into the campaign. Karel said - “Where money goes in, idiots will follow.”
Updated Nov. 12.
Karel/ Charles Karel Bouley said that a cheap, stand in engineer was careless in leaving his mike on during a break. Karel claimed he thought his mike was off when he muttered his highly inappropriate comment. Karel admitted that during breaks, he sometimes said remarks that were not meant for public consumption. He would converse with his chat room. Karel blamed the sound engineer.
The writer at The Examiner thought that Karel was fired to suppress a rising radio star. Karel was the lone wolf in a San Francisco. It was odd so when the perfect excuse came along, Karel was fired.

I heard this radio personality 3 weeks ago driving home from a relatives house. The more i heard him give his political opinions the more i liked him. I’m not surprised that he said this, a alot of people feel the same way about JTP. Joe’s attitude was why should i even work if my taxes will be higher. Well Joe chances are you will be lucky if you make even 100,000 a year being a Plumber, so the new tax laws will have nothing to do with you!
Even where i live in Marin which Plumbers charge a arm and a leg for thier services arn’t making more than $150,000 a year!
So in a nut shell the $250,000 “tax issue” which was spearheaded by the Republicans will NOT effect JTB.
Even in Marin County where i live only about 20% of Marin makes over $250,000 and that’s when you combine both incomes.

Whoohoo! Glad he’s off the air. Blathering, obnoxious, windbag spewing his hate on the radio. Talking about intolerance? He would denigrate anyone who did not see things his way.
November 11th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
I, for one, am very upset. Karel has been a breath of fresh air. I went thru all his crises with him over the years. I shall miss him greatly.
November 11th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
I am sooo upset by this! I have been a KGO listener since birth(my parents are avid fans) I really enjoyed Karels shows! This incident has only further proved to me that our basic rights are being taken away. How sad. I’m thinking of boycotting KGO.

Good riddance to a dishonest hysterically malignant host. In good company with Bernie Ward. Can Taliaferro be far behind?
November 11th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
This is the best news ever. Karel hates. He spews his hatred and I stopped listening to KGO whenever he was on. He was the primary reason I switched my vote from no to yes on prop 8 after I heard his anger from inside his little San Francisco bubble.
I will now switch back to KGO as long as they find some host that actually is willing to discuss issues and not one that tries to shove their ideas down my throat. Good riddens.
Now, get rid of that other idiot, Ray T? and I will listen to KGO full time.
November 11th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
what a silly stupid man…karel was so over the top he was inside himself and upside down…like so much of the wacko left-however-he was entertaining-unlike Talioferro-that guy makes karel look like a piker-why could it had not been Talioferro…
November 12th, 2008 at 12:14 am
Well, I can’t say I’m very upset that Karel is gone. In my opinion, he is a brutal combination of being on the right side of many issues, combined with an hysterical screamer who was moronic on several issues. I mean there is left, and there is go left and over the cliff. He is the latter.
It got to the point where I would only listen to KGO when I was sure he wasn’t on. And when he replaced some hosts, off would go my radio. Rarely, I would listen to him when I was terribly bored, driving, and nothing else was on…. and I mean very rarely.
Radio gave Karel a power and a platform that in my opinion he was too immature, and too angry to use properly. Instead of being an example and convincing with his arguments, he came off as terribly angry, nasty, mean, and hysterical. That may have made exciting radio at times, but not good or great radio.
I’m a liberal to centrist, right down Obama’s alley, and I probably would have chosen to listen to Joe the Plumber (or Joe the Wannabe plumber more like it), over Karel. It just seemed to me that if you plotted Karel’s hysterics, you’d have a ‘J’ curve beginning at the xy axis juncture, moving away from it while rising geometrically.
Adios Karel, my radio can now relax, the tuner being still at 810 am.
November 12th, 2008 at 12:28 am
After the firing, I’ve stopped listening to KGO…
I want Karel back. He is Passionate, fun and HUMAN.
November 12th, 2008 at 12:40 am
The very sad part is Karel lost his job over commenting about a $10 CASH an hour unlicensed pretend plumber who works without paying his taxes.
Only morons who want to believe in trashing honest hardworking professionals, believe in this JERK!
You can’t believe the truth. Bring back Karel.

About time this zero-value moron got fired. One time I heard him say that Xmas has nothing to do with Jesus. If you are not Christian (Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Baptist, etc) and you don’t celebrate true Xmas, then don’t comment on it. What you americans call Xmas isn’t Xmas. It’s a shopping season. True Xmas does not involve gifts. Xmas is just about the birth of Jesus and nothing else. So happy this sexually abnormal individual is off the air. Yes, abnormal, just like a pedophile or worse.
November 12th, 2008 at 2:35 am
Karel got exactly what any other normal person would have. It’s about time KGO listeners finally wake up and see what and how your GAY community really are behind closed doors or when they think the microphone is off. They preach acceptance and equal rights, but when and if you disagree they show their true intolerance and Nazi fascism (want to kill the guy, how over the top can you get). The sadest thing is KGO Gene Burns trying to explain it away that it was unfortunate the microphone was on and he was actually talking to the wall. Talk about idiot’s following each other. Karel is the same guy that called military people morons on his program on Sept 12th. This is why if Pelosi, Reid and idiot Schumer ever try to put in fairness doctrine it will never work. By the way, don’t be scammed, Prop 8 has nothing to do with equal rights and everything to do seperation of church and state. Marriage has been defined by religion and the “state” adopted the term afterwards, so the “state” or judges have NO business trying to redefine the term marriage. Why doesn’t 2some Newsome adopt “jihad” for San Francisco union betweeen GLBTG’s and redefine what “jihad” means. Let’s see you take on muslims instead of christians.
November 12th, 2008 at 5:09 am
Is this really the same guy that told us that Reagan killed his lover, this because Reagan is suspected by these wackos of setting up the whole Aids crisis in order to rid the world of blacks and Gays. I once called his program to discuss this with him, and as is usual with KGO hosts when they are given their heads on a platter, was promptly hung up on. A favorite tactic of Ray T. and Bernie W., both of whom are so stupid that they do not realize that interesting talk radio is where ideas are exchanged and debated instead of merely stuck listening to the typical idiot who happen to be fans of their particular leftist positions. Karel fit right in with these guys. KGO is loaded with these types,,, but let’s not forget that those idiots on the right such as Savage who is the same. Makes for very boring talk. Gene Burns has finally come around a bit, and Ronn Owens will sometimes tolerate a bit of interesting discourse unless he is losing too badly. Bill Wattenberg, though he is probably the most intelligent of the bunch, is insufferable to listen to, as he can handle no dissent at all. Make for a very boring program.
What Karel missed in the death of his lover was not that Reagan killed him, but more likely he died because another gay man enjoyed anal intercourse at his lover’s expense without the use of a condom. It of course is convenient to play the victim card and accuse others of your misfortunes, but the fact is that Aids is a gay disease, but now is spreading to the hetereosexual community because of the many men who after their glory hole gay trysts, then take the disease home to their wives and/or girl friends, or share needles with other drug users(anyone doing that should be lined against a wall and shot). But it remains clear that the gay community is ground zero for this disease and the deaths of thousands of American each and every year,,,,many of them totally and completely innocent all because of the reckless and selfish behavior of these people. And of course they are killing each other by the thousands!
Good riddance, the same goes for Ward,,,now if we could only see the midnight fool go and perhaps pick up a couple of more reasonable and intelligent “fill in” hosts, rather then that dope Press and the vacuous and insipid Rothmann(and let’s not forget the moronic woman who was canned from her midwest TV program) and others of this ilk.
Damn I miss Pete Wilson!

KAREL IS A GOOD TALK-SHOW HOST. HIS PASSION IS UNMATCHED. I ALWAYS HAD THE FEELING THAT KGO WAS LOOKING FOR A REASON TO LET HIM GO. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY FOUND ONE. IT’S SO SAD.

I am not sorry to Karel go. At first, I enjoyed his show. I agreed with him on most things. However, after listening to him several times, I realized he was full of bitterness. I don’t like that in any host. Also, I lost respect for him as he continued to rail against the war in Iraq when he did not have basic facts straight. For example, he repeatedly described the religious/ethnic makeup of Iraq as: Kurds, Sunnis, and Muslims (instead of Shia’s). A person broadcasting their viewpoint to thousands of people needs to show a basic grasp of the topic at hand. After hearing him do things like this a few times, I could not listen to him anymore.
November 12th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Karel proably learned how to hate from right wing facist radio. Everybody from Sewage to that fat drug addict, Rush Limbaugh. I listen to right wing radio too, they really teach people how to hate. If democrats would stop being such wimps and behave like Harry Truman, they would not have been blown away in so many elections. For a liberal, Harry Truman nuked people, oh but I keep on forgetting, liberals are weak on defense, aren’t they?
November 12th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I’ve always been surprised that Karel has been on the air for so long. He seems to hate just about everything and gets so vindictive on-air. I’ve honestly tried to listen to him several times, and thank goodness we have the freedom of choice to turn the channel.
Now we can start listening to KGO again/
November 12th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
I have been listening to KGO for over 50 years. I was a young woman and listened to Jim Dunbar on my way to work. Times certainly have changed and I must say many of my prejudices have been deleted from my consciousness, thank god! I have expanded my thinking and now try to think critically about lifes happenings. I must say, it is sickening to hear so many people talk with so much hate for people who think and believe differently than them. I know I (we) cannot change the world, but I can change the way I think about it. I truly believe that most humans have not evolved to a higher consciousness. I did enjoy KAREL and I do enjoy several of the hosts on KGO. I loved Christine Craft, John Rothmann and some of the other hosts. If I don’t like some of them like’ Wattenberg, I just don’t listen to them. They all have different personalities and experiences. I have read some of the filth written about KAREL. I suggest you take a look at your self! I will miss him. I do believe Joe The Plumber was a phony!! Good Luck KAREL!

I’m not surprised he’s gone. Karma.

COMMENT #14 CONVENIENTLY LEAVES OUT RUSH “THE DRUG ADDICT” LIMBAUGH………………AND SEAN “SLANT HEAD” HANNITY…………………AND BILL “LUFFA SPONGE” O’REILLY. WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED?
November 12th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
He was fired for the death threat. Nothing more, nothing less. This is not about gay straight, left, right, speech, profanity, or censorship. Rather than playing the “victim,” he should count himself lucky he wasn’t arrested.
One commenter said” “alot of people feel the same way about JTP.” Well, if you also want people dead, I suggest you see a therapist to control your insane rage. If you don’t really feel the same way, then stop defending this jerk.
November 12th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Some people here are either nuts, or misinformed:
Fact: People are confusing manic screaming with passion. There is a not so thin line between the two, and Karel was definitely on the manic screaming side of things in my opinion. He gets angry and screams which went a long way in convincing me to turn him off. I like people who express and explain within a decibel range that doesn’t cause ear damage.
Fact: Morons are the only people who believe that being gay is a sign of mental illness or perversion. Gayness has been around probably since the day ages ago when it may have become a genetic thing. No one at age fifteen says, “Hmmm, should I be heterosexual and live a regular life, or homosexual and face the kind of morons who write all the inhumane crap on these pages. The anti-gay idiots on these pages are probably all the kind of perverse jerks who are afraid of their masculinity and fear attraction to the same sex on some level. I worked for a wonderful gay man when I was seventeen. He didn’t try to recruit me, and I still was able to grow up with all the great guilt-free heterosexual sex my parts could take, which led to a great marriage with four wonderful children.
Gay haters: Your anger just points directly to your fear, and your fear is something you are confused about and cannot reconcile. So, instead of being a-holes, get educated. The world would be a happier place for everyone.
Karel Lovers: I believe his anger was getting louder and more frequent, and finally got to the point where I couldn’t listen to him anymore. I believed he wasn’t of the caliber I expected from KGO. I wasn’t sad to see him gone, but I’m not happy that it had to happen that way. I just think he should have been fired for being a poor host. Remember, extreme anger and yelling about something that you, also believe in, doesn’t mean that anyone else has to hear it in the manner Karel dished it out. He may have been fun to talk to at an event, but who needs someone clearly out of control, in my opinion, when they have turned on the radio to be entertained or educated.
November 12th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Death threat plus F-bomb equals pink slip. It’s that simple. Pleading guilty to soliciting child porn will also get your butt kicked off the air.
November 13th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Karel is no different than Doctor Bill Wattenburg. Rant, Rant, Rant.
.
November 13th, 2008 at 1:57 am
I don’t understand why KGO loves hiring screamers. Karel was a screamer; I believe that Wattenberg is a screamer, too. He certainly sounds just like Karel when he finds someone who dares not agree with him. (How dare someone be critical of his ideas. Doesn’t everyone know that Wattenberg is always correct? And as far as opinions, doesn’t everyone know that when you call Wattenberg, the only opinion that counts, is his?)
It’s my opinion that if you took away all the time that Bill Wattenberg spends going ballistic and screaming at people who don’t share this sacred opinions, he’d wind up having a show of fifteen minutes. Wouldn’t it be nice if his shows were that long? I listened to this self appointed god a few times before I realized that I believed him to be the most self congratulating, bombastic, rude, example of Ph.D. (Piled higher and Deeper), and that I vowed never to waste my time on his boooooooring show again. Since then, I’ve recorded his shows, and I play them to my children in their cribs when they aren’t able to fall asleep.
I love science, and I’m devoted to science, but I just can’t take this dude. Listening to him, for me, is like sticking ice picks in my ears. I just can’t understand why KGO puts him on the air. I just don’t get it. Use your time more wisely, buy a good science book. It won’t scream at you and call you insulting names.
This is all just my opinion. But KGO, I’m a customer. Please listen to me. Get rid of all the screamers!!!
November 13th, 2008 at 3:21 am
Long time listener of KGO. Karel was a lively, expressive, out front host, who could become impassioned. He also allowed a more personal relationship by sharing his life with the listeners. His style was never to hold back and often did not censor his accelerated speach when he became excited about an issue.
He was engaging, thoughtprovoking and very funny. Unfortunately he let his professional guard down in between open mikes. That kind of mistake was inevitable. One cannot step out of character at one’s job. It is only a matter of time before it catches up to you.
Karel is an exciting host. I found myself returning to see what the heck he was going to say next time. Karel, you can move passed this ugliness and I hope to hear you on the waves again someday. But KGO did the right thing. You just cannot undo those kinds of mistakes. Good luck. Thanks for the passion.

Hey, I have an outrageous idea: how about you folks who are contending for the Karel slot, including Karel, redeem yourselves for throwing Bernie Ward to the wolves. He’s in prison now, in part because you stood by while Bush railroaded him there. You *AND YOUR COWARDLY KGO “MANAGEMENT”* should be ashamed of yourselves. Now here’s an idea to redeem yourselves, *if* you ever had a quantum of courage in you to give.
I am probably not the only one out here in the KGO audience who misses Bernie Ward’s courageous voice. I would sore like to hear that voice again, and in the physical sense, through the Prison Radio program, which the Bay Area’s own Noelle Hanrahan directs. I don’t give a good goddamn if her program airs on a competitor station. Get off your cowardly asses and make something happen here. Redeem yourselves.

I hate Joe the Plumber too to tell you the truth. Joe the plumber is dangerous. Telling his uneducated lies all over the media. How can the media interview such an idiot? Telling everyone that Obama will mean death to Israel and all this other crap. Talking about taxes like he knows Obamas tax plan. That poor guy couldn’t get close to the 250k cieling Obama has on his plan. And he cries about it on national tv? What a clown. Not to mention he is behind in his taxes. I hope McCain the Insane pays off Joe the dummy plumbers taxes. Thats the least McCain could do for the guy. He lied for him all over America. No wonder they lost. McCain, Palin, and the Plumber. What losers.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:39 am
Karen said ‘off the air’ what many of us were thinking. I don’t think he literally wanted harm for JTP, but just to go away. I think Karel should have been suspended for a bit…look at Morning Joe (MSNBC) with the F-bomb…he just got a 7-second delay added to his program. Karel being fired seems a bit much.
November 14th, 2008 at 12:25 am
I don’t believe he should have been fired for the Joe The Plumber statement, there are other things about him that are far better reasons for him to be fired. Basically he is an awful talk radio host. He never has any “discussions” with people. Even if they agree with him he barely let’s others talk. Dare to disagree and he just shouts, calls you an idiot and cuts you off. Him, Dr. W, Bernie Ward all the same style. They should all take a listen (well except for Bernie, he’s done)and listen to Ronn Owens, Gil Gross and Gene Burns. They rationally discuss things and they will “agree to disagree” if you debate them without being a lunatic yourself. The thing is there are quite a few items I agreed with Karell with him on, but I couldn’t stand his style so I wouldn’t even listen.
My opinion of him has nothing to do with him being gay or liberal. I voted for Obama and NO on prop 8!
November 14th, 2008 at 1:25 am
I like to listen to karel when I’m in San Francisco. I often disagree but enjoy his show. I was listening when he made the comment, and surprised that he was so uptight about JTP. If fact I don’t know why anyone gets so enraged by someone else’s views.
Civility has been lost in our culture. People feel that they can do or say anything they want without consequence. Karel pushed the envelope and lost his job for it. Sadly, instead of owning up to it, blames others for his shortcoming. Another sad commentary of our culture.
November 14th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Karel is simply the liberal version of Michael Savage.
November 14th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
So true about Karel being the liberal version of Michael Savage….and just like Michael, when Karel starts to “go off” on his usual tirades it’s always nice to simply turn the dial. Karel at times does have some good things to say, like Michael, but after while the ranting gets very tiresome….
November 14th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
Finally some justice for the hateful, racist Obama thugocracy.
Welcome to the Communist Police State.
November 17th, 2008 at 3:33 am
KGO has 2 hosts I just cannot listen to. Karel is one of them.
Karel has mostly idiotic opinions, and a poor way to express himself. He is nothing but a flamboyant gay, I guess that is enough for KGO in SF, which is too bad. Gays I know are much smarter than this buffoon. The other thing is that he cannot hold a conversation with anyone. He is rude, interrupts, cuts them off while it is all about him and is psychopathlogy. I am so glad to see Karel gone, and I hope it is permanent. I have my AM dial tuned to KGO and I always turn away when Karel is on.
The other bad host is Bill Wattenburg. Wattenberg has been doing the same show for about half a century now. He is a rude grumpy know it all, and the thing is that being an engineer and a scientist, this guy is a liar. He talks about nuclear waste like it is cream in milk. His story is about 1st grade level, and he is dead wrong about nuclear power. At least he has done something to earn his show though, Karel is useless. What else can this guy do, and is the fact that he is not good at anything mean that he should be able to haunt the whole western US with his verbal diarreah? Good riddance.
November 17th, 2008 at 3:36 am
Some of you who are complaining about the professionalism of talk show hosts should listen to Jim Gabbard, John Rothman, Gene Burns … it is possible to have an intelligent talk show host that does not insult, hang up on, or otherwise abuse the callers or the audience.
Rothman is my favorite, he is on Sat & Sun starting at 1am … the worst spot and yet I always have to listen to him, he is fantastic!
Gabbard is good too, but he is not full-time.
November 18th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
KGO made the right decision when letting Karel go. They should have done the same thing for Bernie Ward before Ward went to jail for his own doing. Both have same styles: both liked to bully listeners who dared to disagree with them with shouts and cutting them off the air. I listen to KGO 100% of the time when driving, but changed station when I heard either one of them on the air. I support gay right 101%, and the fact that Karel was gay did not make him a rightous person. He brings shame to the gay community. He had no right to insult another citizen who dared to make his view public, no matter how wrong he/she could be. Thank you KGO.
November 19th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
I WILL MISS KAREL. HE WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR.GET RID OF GUYS LIKE WATTENBERG WHO SOUNDS AND THINKS LIKE AN OLD MAN AND SAYS NOTHING.
November 21st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Blake said the way to wisdom is often through excess. Karel’s radio discourse style–though often bombastic and self-serving–was invariably marked by truly felt, genuine concern for the plight of our country. It was exciting radio. He brought a nonformulaic, human element. And audacity. And courage. It is often the fate of the passionaate that they fall on their own sword. Karel, you will be missed.
November 23rd, 2008 at 1:21 am
I’m really sad that Karel is off the air. He was definitely controversial, but he had a huge amount of supporters and even if you didn’t agree with him, he was still fun to listen to. I mean it’s rare to listen to a host on KGO that is both a great debater, and extremely funny. I’ll listen to all of the hosts on KGO, even Bill Wattenburg. But none of them have brought the smile to my face that Karel did. I’m pretty sure he even got my friend into politics. If Karel happens to be reading this, her name is Amy and the first time I had her listen to Karel’s show, she dialed 8080810 and screamed with joy when he took her call and told him how much she loved him. All I can say is I really hope Karel finds an outlet that I can easily listen to all the time like I was able to with him on KGO. So KGO, you suck. But I’ll continue to listen to you because I still like to listen to the other hosts even if I think some of them are douche bags.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 am
Very sad to see him fired. I knew he was going to get fired someday. He even mentioned a few days prior to the JTP episode: “I know I’m going to get fired..”. His political view on international issues, Israel in particular, was quite different than that of KGO management. Sure he cut people off, but so do the other host. Try to say something bad about Israel on Ron Owen’s, Gene Burns’, or Bill ROTTENberg’s showes and see how quickly you will get cut-off! I will miss him.
November 23rd, 2008 at 6:01 pm
In post #43 Paul says ” I mean it’s rare to listen to a host on KGO that is both a great debater and extremely funny”.
I have to disagree. I actually agreed with most of Karel’s social views, but wasn’t always with him on financial views. However, the reason I couldn’t stand listening to him was that he was a HORIBBLE debater.
The dictionary’s definition of debate is “a discussion, involving opposing viewpoints”. Karel never involved opposing viewpoints because the second you disagreed with him he would shut you down. Quite frankly even people that agreed with him didn’t get to talk that much. I think he just loved hearing himself talk.
It seems like that 10 - 1 spot is reserved for screamers. First the king of all screamers Bernie Ward, then he’s gone and you have a rotation of Karel, Wattenburg, Christine Craft and now the latest screamer Pat Thurston.
The good debaters on KGO are Ronn Owens, Gil Gross and Gene Burns. I’ve heard Gene have a debate with someone he disagreed with for as long as 15 minutes, but as long as it was a civil discussion he could “agree to disagree”. So can Ron and Gil. Karel could never do that.
By the way I can’t stand listening to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh or Savage so this is not a biased political opinion.
November 24th, 2008 at 12:50 am
That “individual’s” time, on the airwaves, was pure TRASH, & KGO, insulted the, collective, intelligence of it’s listeners, by putting out this, “LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR”,type of programing,..I truly, hope that KGO will, hence foreward, try to “clean up it’s act”,…
November 24th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
sure do miss Karel
November 27th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
Karel was interesting and controversial. I didn’t agree with some of his views , but he was interesting and funny. Can’t say that about most of the other KGO hosts. I agree with almost everything Ray T. says, but can’t stand to listen to him because he is so BORING. Gene Burns can be interesting at first, but by the 2nd hour he will put you to sleep. Christine Craft can be interesting, until someone calls who seems to know more than her, and she will rant and rave until she gets rid of them. Wattenberg is not only boring but has his head so far up his ass, he doesn’t know the difference between nuclear waste and a sewage pit. John Rothman is quite interesting. Makes one feel like being back in college in a history class. I wasn’t surprised to see Karel getting fired, he had become too popular and controversial and the establishment couldn’t control him anymore. They were waiting in the wings for their chance to get rid of him, when the opportunity presented itself, they jumped on it.

This degenerate relish eater can take a break now. He and D-wad Ward can trade cards, though they just like their boys at different ages. The rest of the country says good bye to a real d-bag and hopes your forced retirement is a long one. We know you left town in a hurry D-bag because your S*8t was already packed…Dang, I feel better already. Sorry to the rest of you for not towing the PC line. I’m just one pissed off guy that is tired of watching bad called good, wrong called right, immoral called moral and the rest of the SF sicko stuff. Just because 2-3 of you out of 100 prefer your own sex does not mean the rest of us have to take it up the ass too. Glad to see KGO has a set. 2 donkey’s down a few to go…..

Gee, this is the first I’ve heard about Karel’s departure. I haven’t missed his vile, hostile, hating rants one bit. While KGO is clearing out their trash, how about making it a triple play by kicking Ray T. to the curb as well? Taliaferro’s unhinged “G__ D___ that Bush!!!” rants were a shocking use of the airwaves. KGO really should raise its standards

Hi Karel as in the bible said you live by the sword you die by the sword god will not be mocked.

One down, One to go (R.T.F.). It was a double win for our side. We got rid of this idiot and we beat back the gays on prop 8. Yipee!

Maybe it’s because this is the Bay Area, but KGO has way too many senseless, bone-headed, twisted, brainless, easily duped, sucker, dangerously ignorant, just plain stupid, sap listeners, for their own good.
Some think Karel was a breathe of fresh air. While I agreed with some of his viewpoints, he was fresh air, like what happens when I eat too many beans.
His supporters are probably the same morons who are still mad that Bernie Ward isn’t on the air from his prison cell. They are so desperate for a strong liberal voice (and I’m a liberal), that they are perfectly willing to trade their common sense for 1) an out of control screamer, and 2) a convicted felon. These are the morons who called in to Christine Craft’s (more like Christine Crap) “Praise Bernie Ward” show, where they called in and couldn’t stop heaping praise on someone recently felonized for what I believe is extreme perversion, and child porn indulgences. The guy needs to feel the weight of what he did, not feel like millions love him and excuse him for what he did, which is what I believe Christine Crap was trying to do. That idiot (IMHO) kept saying throughout the show, “But his phone call wasn’t illegal”, too stupid to understand that if he actually did what he was talking about, that was.
I hope KGO gets some responsible liberal hosts, and stays away from crazy, ultra left wing jerks who give liberals the bad name that should be reserved only for these crazy hosts.

Wow, these homophobes in this thread sure need an attitude adjustment! (Blasting Karel because he wished OneOfTheirOwnHeteroBigots dead, yet it’s obvious their dark hearts wish misery and death to all gays.) But I’ll just ignore them, just as those living next to a sewage plant ignore the bad odors.
What’s Karel doing now; it’s 2009 and I’d sure like to find out. In fact, I stumbled upon this board searching just for that! Anyone got a clue? (Gee, I may be the very last poster to this thread, considering the one just before me posted in early December.)

I guess kgo only has one idiot left, good old RAY. Now if he goes, kgo would be worth listening to. However since San Francisco is a sanctuary city, I guess anything goes. After all they, san franciscans, need someone to preach to them their socialist ideas.. How about putting a fence around San Francisco and let them lead their own lives. I would even support letting them cecede and become a state of their own.

I miss Karel. He was a lot of fun. Does any one know if he is on any other stations that I can listen to? thanks =)

Karel was the only reason that I would tune to KGO. After the wonderful things that Karel has said and done, can’t KGO excuse him this once? It seems to me that KGO is being very intolerant. Something I thought I never would say. I’ve been listening to KGO all my life, I’m 53, I’m sad that I won’t be listening anymore until Karel comes back!
January 17th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
we love karel he is funny and real. No one is perfect, like denise we have been listening to kgo all our adult lives we are 68 & 70 we are upset that he is gone.

Over the years, Karel had the unique ability to draw listeners in by eloquently discussing topics that contained sensitive and emotional subject matter. Even though I disagreed with him politically, I found him to be genuinely compassionate, and down to earth.
Unfortunately, like many liberal extremists, he believed he could spew hatred towards anyone who didn’t agree with him politically. His misguided belief that the majority of people supported his rhetoric, simply because they listened from Democratically based bastions like San francisco, ultimately destroyed his credibility, and halted any worthy contributions he may have offered.
You did it to yourself pal.

Extremists from the left and right get too much attention in this country. I would listen to Karel if he talked about anything other than politics since his facts and or premise were often twisted/wrong. But to blame the sound engineer? So sad. Karel proved himself to be hateful.
January 24th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Karel told the truth. some of you guys can’t take the truth because of your prejudices and sick minds. most of the hate comments come from gwbush lovers..you have to be a moron to love bush. Joe the plumber deserved what Karel gave him.Joe the plumber ave the plumbers of america a bad name. the sound engineer screwed up and he should be fired not karel!!
January 25th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Attacking the average joe demonstrates the depths democrats will go, in order to shove their racist agenda right down our throats.
Karel is just another casualty of the political disease known as liberalism. The symptoms begin with a mild identity crisis, which develops into a dislike for the “white” male”. This can have a particularly adverse effects if you happen to be caucasian, hate Christianity, and live in the Bay Area. Advanced stages of the disease leaves victims spewing hatred until death of their careers.
You don’t have to be a “Bush lover” to recognize the truth.

Karel is a pissy old queen. He’s bitter, self-righteous, and, really, think about it, not very bright. I thought KGO made a bad choice to give him a regular show in the first place. I think KGO can take advantage of this opportunity to replace Karel with someone who is mature, intelligent, and able to listen to his or her listeners and the participate in a conversation. Karel was cut from the same cloth as Savage, et. al., and his meanness and intolerance won’t be missed at all by me.
February 11th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
I blame the head people, like Mikey Lockoff, whatever, He gets paid to hire clowns like Karel and Ronn, Lockoff only hires his friends, and I guess his closet lovers. Kgo has gone down since the genius Bernie, has gone. What’s left is a lot of staff that needs to get over themselves…
February 12th, 2009 at 4:45 am
Still not missing Karel. I’m a prejudiced, sick minded George Bush lover who enjoyed Joe the Plumber’s 15 minutes of fame. That said, I also appreciate the way that Gene Burns and Christine Kraft can be on air for hours at a time without flaming out. They are serious, polite adults who can carry on a conversation with any anonymous caller with a viewpoint different than theirs. They are also very good at getting rid of irritating kooks of any stripe. Some of Karel’s supporters equate his rantings, ravings, crudeness and hostility with passion. Sure, he’s passionate. He was also loud, hostile, intolerant and foul. Just plain irritating. Glad he’s still gone.

Bring Karel BACK - All your other hosts are BORING.
Get Randi Rhodes - Mike Malloy even better - on NOVAM. I listen to them on my computer instead of KGO. You are the only progressive voice in Central Calif. Do us a favor against the GD conservatives, religion and sports.

Since Karel and Bernie are not on KGO anymore I listen less and less. They were controversial, but fascinating. I do not even turn Dr. Bill on, his arrogant voice and treatment of callers is too much to listen to. Gene Burns, Christine Kraft and John Rothman are the last people I turn the radio on for.
