Kara DioGuardi is engaged. DioGuardi is engaged to marry Mike McCuddy. McCuddy is a general contractor, who had worked before as a school teacher. DioGuardi and McCuddy became engaged on Dec. 8 2008. DioGuardi and McCuddy were on vacation when he popped the question.

Since Tuesday Jan 13 is the first night DioGuardi makes her debut on American Idol, this news was timed to be released on her big day. DioGuardi said she was nervous being a judge on American Idol. DioGuardi described herself as being a mix of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.

Updated June 23 2009 – Kara DioGuardi will be married in a fortnight. Kara DioGuardi has not released other details of her wedding with Mike McCuddy.
