Kamani Hubbard is the latest baby born with six fingers and six toes on each limb. Baby Hubbard has 12 fingers and 12 toes. Kamani Hubbard’s extra digits look normal. The doctor said Hubbard’s digits are functional and do not need to be removed.

Kris Hubbard, the father of Kamani Hubbard, said that the gene for extra digits run in his side of the family. Kris Hubbard himself had extra digits but they were removed when he was young because they were not functioning. Hubbard said he can’t wait to see how his son will be developing his use for his extra digits. Hubbard hopes Kamani will grow up to be a great musician like Hound Dog Taylor, or a great pitcher like Antonio Alfonseca.

The condition of having extra digits is called “polydactyly”.

Miryoki Gross, mother of Kamani Hubbard, said she was still in shock because she did not know her baby had extra fingers and toes until after he was born.
