Kaitlyn Finnegan, 18, was shot in her upper chest on Saturday, April 4. Finnegan was a senior student at Bishop Kelley High School.

Finnegan’s friends brought her into the St Francis Hospital, at around 7:15 pm. Despite their valiant efforts, Finnegan could not be saved. Finnegan was pronounced dead at 7: 44 pm.

Police worked to get their search warrant for a home in the 5800 block of South 94th East Avenue. Officers saw blood on the front porch of the home. Detectives have apprehended a suspect in the fatal shooting of Finnegan. Two more people were being questioned by police in relation to Finnegan’s death. Police are investigating and more information may become available at a later date.
