By Clarencia Cynrae on November 24th, 2008

Julie Amero, 41, was a former substitute teacher in Norwich, Connecticut. Julie Amero was charged with one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after she exposed her students to online pornography. Amero pleaded guilty and agreed to lose her licence to teach. Amero has to pay a fine of $100.

Julie Amero was teaching her seven grade students when porn appeared on her classroom computer in 2004. Some computer experts suspected that the computer was infected with programs that caused the images to pop up beyond the control of the user. Julie Amero was convicted of giving the risk of injury to a minor. Amero faced 40 years in prison except when a judge threw out her conviction when flawed testimony was found. Julie Amero was waiting for a new trial when she was offered a plea deal and she accepted it.
