Josh Gunderson, 20, a student of the University of St Thomas, died on Tuesday, March 24. Gunderson was on a spring break trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Gunderson died in his hotel room in the Puerto Vallarta coastal resort town. Police are investigating his death.

Gunderson was found in the bathroom of the hotel room. A forensics expert said Gunderson died from a heavy blow to the back of his head. The local authorities speculated Gunderson may have slipped and fell, hitting his head. Gunderson’s body will be returned to Minnesota soon.

The hotel room was registered in the names of David Harold Jensen Zachary, 26, and Ashley Jones. Josh Gunderson stayed with them.
