Joseph Geiger was arrested for the death of David Reed, 13. David Reed died in 1985. 23 years after David Reed’s death, Joseph Geiger was arrested on charges of third degree murder and related counts. The old homicide happened in Schuylkill Haven, 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Joseph Geiger was on his way to court when he broke his silence voluntarily and said that he did not do it. Geiger was unemployed and said he could not afford a lawyer. Gieger gave different stories to the police. Police believed that Joseph Geiger and David Reed had an argument when Gieger accused Reed of stealing his marijuana plants. Police believed that Geiger punched Reed, who then fell back and hit his head on a metal wall.

David Reed’s mother died in 2001 and his sister died in 2007. David Reed’s brother, Joseph Reed is alive.
