Joseph Frederick Briggs: Briggs killed after standoff
By Therese Lisieux on February 16th, 2009Joseph Frederick Briggs, a student at Seton Hill University, Maryland, Pa, was shot to death by police. Briggs had a standoff with police on Sunday, Feb 15. Briggs had threatened to harm himself and his roommates.
Brigg’s roommates had left the house when Briggs threatened them with a weapon. Briggs had a loaded gun. When police came, Briggs fired toward the police officers. Briggs hit a house on the street and some parked cars.
The residences were evacuated and the campus was locked down. Police said Briggs was drunk and he remained inside the home for 3 hours. The police and Briggs had a standoff for 3 hours. Then, Briggs was shot and killed by police.
