Jorge Alberto Mendez, 42, of Texas, has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Mendez is accused of raping 19 women in Ciudad Juarez, northern Mexico. Mendez was arrested when he was traveling from El Paso, Texas into Mexico.

A rape victim recorded the license plate of a vehicle which was traced to Mendez. Mendez allegedly scouted neighbourhoods in Mexico in the day. Under the cover of darkness, Mendez broke into homes to attack women and girls. The females were between 13 to 20 years old. Jorge Mendez allegedly used a gun to threaten his victims before he raped them.
