Jordan first book award nomination
By Angie Anthony on March 22nd, 2008This would be Jordan’s first book to be nominated for an award.
Some writers were upset when Jordan’s book was nominated for the W.H. Smith’s Children’s Book Of The Year. This was a prestigious award. It was equivalent to the American movie industry’s Oscar Award.
Some opponents said that Jordan should not win because she hired a professional ghostwriter to writer her book.
Jordan’s fans, supporters and staff forwarded some arguments to propose that her book was an eligible nomination.
- Jordan was a brand name. She endorsed products so it did not matter if she actually wrote the book or made the product herself.
- It did not matter who the author was but that the book was good. Judge the merit of the book, not the name of the author.
- A book was made up of material from many sources. It mattered not if the author used another resource (ghostwriter) to write the book.
Children voted for Jordan’s book to be included in the nominations for W.H. Smith’s Children’s Book Of The Year.
