Jonathan Pollard was an American Jew who spied for Israel. Jonathan Pollard was discovered as a spy and was arrested in Washington in 1985. After his trial, he was sentenced to life in prison in 1987.

Jonathan Pollard sues the State of Israel over their claims that Israel supports Jonathan Pollard and his wife. Jonathan Pollard said that neither he nor his wife is financially supported by Israel. This was important because Israel’s claims have hindered his efforts to reduce his life sentence which was handed down in 1987.
