Jon Hein aka Jono Hein, died suddenly on Wednesday April 23 2008. He lived in the Emerald Beach area. Jon Hein aka Jono Hein was also given the nickname of The Silver Surfer because of his long silver hair. The Silver Surfer was also the name of the antagonist in the Fantastic Four superhero movie.

Jon Hein/ Jono Hein/ The Silver Surfer was a teaching assistant at Sandy Beach Primary School. Jon Hein/ Jono Hein/ The Silver Surfer left ehind his kids Jodie Hein, Jamie Hein, Jacob Hein, grandson Lucas, his partner Isabelle and his first wife, Jenny.

On Sunday morning, April 27, 2008, there was a special memorial service at the beach. A hundred and forty surfers paddled out on their surf boards to pay their respects in honor of Jon Hein/ Jono Hein/ The Silver Surfer. They tried to rein in their bereavement for Jon Hein/ Jono Hein/ The Silver Surfer.

There was a more formal memorial service on Tuesday April 29 2008. Seven hundred people attended at the Emerald Beach Reserve to say their final goodbyes to Jon Hein/ Jono Hein/ The Silver Surfer.
