Johnny Knoxville was detained at L.A. International Airport. Knoxville, aka Philip John Clapp, had an inert grenade in his carry-on luggage. Security Screeners saw the grenade in the actor’s carry-on bag. Knoxville was released and allowed to board the American Airlines flight to Miami.

State prosecutors have to decide if they want to charge Knoxville, 38, for bringing the banned grenade into a secure are of the airport. The offence is a misdemeanor.

Knoxville told the authorities the grenade was a stage prop he had forgotten to remove from his bag. The inert grenade did not have a safety pin for firing.
