John Pontolillo: John Pontolillo uses samurai sword on intruder
By Clarencia Cynrae on September 15th, 2009John Pontolillo, an undergraduate from Hopkins University, confronted an intruder at his home. Pontolillo used a samurai sword to defend himself on Tuesday, Sep 15. The suspect died from his wounds.
A neighbor saw a man loitering around Pontolillo’s residence and called police. Before cops arrived, Pontolillo had confronted the suspect in the garage. Another neighbor heard some yelling, warning someone to get down on the ground and not move.
The suspect allegedly lunged at Pontolillo, who panicked and swung the samurai sword, thereby almost slicing off the suspect’s left hand. The intruder bled profusely and died at the scene.
John Pontolillo has not been charged while the investigations are on-going.
