Sen. John McCain as himself and Tina Fey as Sarah Palin present a skit called “McCain QVC Open.” McCain explained how he would have liked to be on 3 major networks too but he is a poor Republican, thus he could only afford SNL's "QVC." There was laughter as the implicated message of Democrats got across.
McCain promised Quality, Value and Convenience in his QVC. As a Republican, he promised to deliver QVC.
McCain pretended to do a sales pitch on some SNL QVC dinner plates. They were special, commemorative editions of 10 presidential debates which he had originally intended but his opponent had reduced them down because ... Here, the meaning of his implication was clear.
McCain showed two sets of SNL QVC knives to cut the pork (out of pork barrels).
Cindy McCain was present as a SNL QVC jewelry sales person who showed off 3 sets of SNL QVC gold necklaces.
Fey/ Palin pitched her own campaign T shirt that said “Palin in 2012.” Her instructions were to wear only after Tuesday's general elections. Fey/Palin reminded us to keep her Presidential ambition a secret.
McCain and Fey/Palin were entertaining on SNL.
