John K Martin, 32, of New Bedford, died on Sun, June 21. Martin was fatally shot in the head during an armed robbery attempt at Petro Mart, at Coggeshall St, New Bedford. Martin was shot on Sat and he died the following day.

Martin was the store clerk’s friend and was visiting him when a stranger walked up to rob the store. The man fired 3- 4 shots and hit John Martin. The clerk ran away via a back exit. Police are investigating the case.
