John Ferguson, a farmer, lived in a mobile home. When Ferguson died, he left $2 million to Hopewell United Methodist Church near the town of Black Lick. The small church is in western Pennsylvania. John Ferguson,71, had been a parishioner before he died in 2007.

Hopewell United Methodist Church has 80 members. Hopewell Pastor, Jason McQueen, said that a panel will decide on the projects to be funded from the income from John Ferguson’s estate.
