Joe McCain is the brother of John McCain. This weekend, Joe McCain spoke at a campaign rally for John McCain. Joe McCain called Arlington and Alexandria, two areas of Northern Virginia, as “communist country.” The audience took it as a joke and laughed.

It was known that Arlington and Alexandria were predominantly Democratic in political preference. Joe McCain may have alienated them further by his pointed barb at their deviant stance. Joe McCain apologized for his remark. John McCan’s campaign spokeswoman also explained away Joe McCain’s comment as an “unsuccessful attempt at humor.”
