Joseph “Joe” Bruno: Bruno accused of corruption

Joseph “Joe” Bruno, former Senate Majority Leader, pleaded not guilty to federal corruption charges.Joe Bruno was accused of corruption during his 13 years in office. Bruno was indicted by a grand jury early in the day of Fri., Jan 23. Bruno had prepared and read a long statement to the media. Bruno refused to do the question and answer session.

Joseph “Joe” Bruno, a former Rensselaer County lawmaker, claimed the FBI investigation of his outside business deals, was a “Get Joe Bruno campaign”. Bruno accused the US attorney of being politicized and said the FBI was overzealous. Bruno said he will fight the case.
