Joao Bernardo “Nino” Vieira: Vieira’s Guinea-Bissau home attacked

The residence of President Joao Bernardo “Nino” Vieira, of Guinea-Bissau, was attacked by gunmen. The gunmen and his security had a 3 hour battle before morning on Sunday, Nov. 23. The government of Guinea-Bissau did not release any information. A reporter working for the Associated Press claimed he heard artillery and RPG rockets fired on the home of President Joao Bernardo “Nino” Vieira.

The UN has accused Guinea-Bissau of being the transit point for cocaine trade. The opposition parties alleged that some politician sunder the present ruling party were funded by the drug cartel’s money. The former President Kumba Yala of Guinea-Bissau accused Vieira of being the top drug trafficker in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa.
