Steve Vander Ark claimed that his website started in 2000 and JK Rowling had not objected; so why should she now?

It was because JK Rowling planned to write her own encyclopedia on Harry Potter soon. She farther augmented her case by saying the proceeds from her guides would be donated to charity.
