Jiverly Voong, or Linh Phat Voong, was the name of the gunman who had a shooting spree at the immigration services center in Binghamton, New York. Jiverly Voong/ Linh Phat Voong killed up to 13 people before he shot himself. Voong, 41, was from Johnson City, NY.

A body, tentatively identified as Voong’s was found in American Civic Association building. The body was inside an office of the building. Voong’s car blocked the backdoor exit of the building. There were an estimated 26 people who were wounded from Jiverly Voong’s rampage on Friday morning, April 3.

The press called up a listed phone number for Henry D Voong. A woman answered. She said she was a sister of Jiverly Voong. She denied that Jiverly could have been the gunman. She said Jiverly did not have a gun.

Pakistani Taliban militant leader Baituallah Mehsud claimed responsibility for the Binghamton shootings. Pakistan security experts shot down his claim saying that it probably was an attempt to gain publicity. (Report here)
