Jinx on Valkyrie/ Claus von Stauffenberg/ United Studio lawsuit

By Angie Anthony on August 27th, 2008

Claus von Stauffenberg is the name of Tom Cruise’s new movie, Valkyrie. It took a law suit to get international publicity.

Eleven extras for Valkyrie/ Claus von Stauffenberg fell out of a truck during the tape shooting of the movie. The extras, who are small time actors in minor roles, got the fantastic idea of suing United Studios for $11 million. That is $1 million each for each actor who fell down from the stage prop truck. The group of extras hired the lawyer; Ariane Bluttner.

Tom Cruise, who acts as Claus von Stauffenberg in Valkyrie may be kicking his staff for not inspecting the safety of the prop before it was used. Its because Tom Cruise has a stake in United Studios and he will lose money.

One year ago in 2007, all eleven extras in the accident in Valkyrie were sent to hospital. The injured had bumps, bruises, broken ribs, injured ligaments and one was hospitalized for 4 days because of the possibility of internal injuries. Was it the ghost of Claus von Stauffenberg at work?

Tom Cruise is saved in a way. Cruise was having a day off when the accident happened. There were gossip and rumor on Valkyrie/ Claus von Stauffenberg being jinxed. Tom Cruise was not welcomed by many Germans. Claus von Stauffenberg’s eldest son disapproved of Cruise playing the role of his father. The German government helped to subsidize Valkyrie. United Studio had special permission to hang banners of the German swastika for filming on locations that were cordoned off to the public. Usually, the swastika is banned from display.

The movie’s release has been postponed because of poor response even after massive publicity. Film rolls were discovered to be faulty. The present date set for Valkyrie is Feb. 5, 2009.

Tom Cruise is a good person, despite the bad hype about Scientology. May be all this about Valkyrie/ Claus von Stauffenberg works well to promote the movie.
