Jim Akkerman, retired NASA engineer, as experimenting on his new spacecraft when his rocket fuel exploded in Hitchcock, Houston.

Jim Akkerman is president of Advent Launch Services. The experimental spacecraft was supposed to launch from water in a vertical position and land on water. None were injured in the explosion. No property was damaged either. No law was broken and Jim Akkerman can continue his scientific experiments.
