By Therese Lisieux on May 28th, 2009

Jerry Lee Evans was jailed for 22 years on a wrongful conviction of rape. Post conviction DNA testing has exonerated Evans. Many exonerated former convicts were present to greet Evans when he was released from prison in Dallas.

In 1986, a female student from the Southern Methodist University was raped. The 18 year old teen picked Evans from a parade. Evans looked like her attacker and sounded like him.

Evans said he has forgiven everyone and wants to start his new life. Jerry Lee Evans was welcomed home by his friends and cousins. They will help him rehab and adjust to the present society.
