Updated July 22 2009n – Sean Michael Block, of San Antonio, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for trying to sell his girlfriend’s daughter, 5 years old, to makers of child pornography. Block was convicted in May 2009. The offence was committed in Aug 2008.

After Block’s release, he has to undergo 10 years of supervised release.

Jennifer Louis Richards has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Richards claimed that Block had threatened her and forced her to agree to his action.

Jennifer Richards, 25, and her married boyfriend, Sean Michael Block, 40 were arrested and charged. Jennifer Richards was charged with using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor. Sean Michael Block was charged with distributing child pornography.

Jennifer Richards and Sean Michael Block were accused of trying to sell Jennifer Richards’ 5 year old daughter for sex, in exchange for an apartment, a used car and child care services for Jennifer Richards’ 10 month old daughter. The couple also intended to sell this daughter’s sexual service. In addition Jennifer Richards and Sean Michael Block were going to blackmail the buyer.

Sean Michael Block’s lawyer argued that his client did not actually carry out the sex deal. Sean Michael Block’s behavior was fantasy and nothing happened. His wife, Sarah Block, filed for a protective order for their now 14 month old daughter. Sarah Block filed for divorce on Friday August 22.
