Barack Obama made a special request to get Jennifer Hudson to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Democratic National Conference (DNC) before he accepts his presidential nomination.

Barack Obama’s representative told People mag that Jennifer Hudson would be performing on Thursday, August 28. The spokesperson for the DNC convention refused to confirm Jennifer Hudson’s performance because the official schedule is not announced yet. Jennifer Hudson has also said she did not get a confirmation for her singing engagement. Hudson said she supported Obama irrespective of whether she was asked to sing or not.

Another Jennifer who has been invited to perform at the Democratic National Conference convention is Jennifer Lopez. J Lo will show her support for Obama on Thursday, August 27 too. The event’s closing ceremony will be done by Bruce Springsteen.
