Jaylynn Thorpe, 3, was lost when he wandered away from his babysitter at 4 pm Friday, Dec. 5. Jaylynn Thorpe was missing for 21 hours as hundreds of people searched for him in the woods of Halifax County. James Thorpe, the boy’s father, said that they were frantic because the external temperature was 17 degrees.

On Saturday afternoon, rescuers found Jaylynn Thorpe seated under a tress, with his 2 family puppies nestled close to him. Jaylynn Thorpe was sent to hospital for a medical examination. It seemed the Thorpe family puppies kept Jaylynn Thorpe warm with their body heat. The puppies were credited for being Jaylynn Thorpe’s savers.
