Updated October 27 -John William Lomax is one of those arrested in relation to stabbing death of Jasper Howard. Lomax has been charged with killing Jasper Howard. Lomax’s lawyer maintained that his client was innocent.

Jasper Howard, who was just starting out in his football career, died after being stabbed. Howard, 20, was expecting to become the father of his child. His team mates have pledged to become uncles to his baby when s/he is born.

Howard was a starting cornerback for University of Connecticut (UConn). Howard was fatally stabbed on campus on Saturday and died on Sunday morning, October 18.

Jasper Howard was involved in a fight. During the argument, Howard was stabbed. It happened on Saturday, after the Connecticut football team won, 38-25, over Louisville.

The suspect escaped. Police are still investigating the case.
