Jasmine Mirza, 5, is the first child in UK to receive living organ transplants from her parents. Jasmine Mirza has a kidney from her mother and a piece of liver from her father. Jasmine Mirza has made medical history in Britain.

Jasmine Mirza had liver failure at 7 months old. Mr Sohrab Mirza gave his daughter 30% of his liver instead of waiting for a liver donor.

Jasmine Mirza’s kidneys began to fail after she received her successful liver transplant. Her father again offered to donate of his organs. Sohrab Mirza was tested and deemed unsuitable. Jasmine’s mother, Cathie Locke, was tested and proved to be suitable. So Jasmine received one kidney from her mother.
