Jasika Nicole, who acts as an FBI agent on “Fringe” , was asked by her manager, John Essay, about revealing herself as a lesbian. Bigger roles became available to Jasika Nicole as she gained exposure in “Fringe.” John Essay warned her that some roles could be lost if she came out in the open. Some fans might turn away from her.

Jasika Nicole has been open about her lesbian preference. Nicole started dating women about three years ago. Jasika Nicole wants to tell that her girlfriend is her partner. Nicole does not want to hide because that might make it look “shameful”, in her own words. Larry Gross, a director of Annenberg School for Communication at University of Sothern California, said that “being gay will undermine your credibility both as a romantic lead or an action star.”
