James “Pooh” Wilson, allegedly the mastermind of a drug robbery, surrendered to police on July 14. Wilson’s real name was Will Hook but since he had a conviction in 1991 under the name of James Wilson, police used that name for him.

James Wilson was arrested on a warrant of arrest for burglary. Wilson was not charged for the fatal shootings of Rian Thal and Timothy Gilmore.

James Wilson’s lawyer said his client had only been arrested twice. Once in 1991 for a drug charge and second in 1998 for a traffic accident and fight.

In 1998’s arrest, Wilson gave police another name – Keith Epps.

Robert Keith, 27, was named as the suspect who accompanied James Wilson to the apartment building of Rian Thal. However, they broke down the door of the wrong apartment.

Katoya Jones, 25, and Donnell Murchison, 32, are another two suspects who were allegedly involved in the fatal shootings of Rian Thal and Timothy Gilmore.

Rian Thal, 34, was shot and killed on Sat, June 27, inside Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties, in Philadelphia.

A black man in his 30s was also fatally shot. The man’s name has not been released. A few people who left the building immediately after the shooting are being sought as possible suspects.

Rian Thal was in the Piazza’s Navona apartment building in the 1000 block of Hancock Street. Rian Thal and the body of the man were found near the elevator of the 7th floor. Thal lived in an apartment on that level.

Rian Thal worked as a restaurant’s marketing manager. Thal’s apartment contained a large amount of cash and drugs. There were about 2 kg of drugs and $100,000 cash. Surveillance cameras inside the apartment building caught the shootings on video tape. Police have these as evidence and are searching for the suspects.

On Tue, June 30, about 100 mourners attended the funeral of Rian Thal. Ms Thal was buried in the afternoon.

Rian Thal was a party planner who worked the crowd. She was a good worker. Her boss said Thal was doing her job well as a party planner.

Police now know that the murders of Rian Thal and her friend were well planned and executed. Police released the surveillance tapes to plead for the public’s assistance in identifying the killers. Four men waited for Rian Thal and her friend to arrive to kill them.
