James McCarty Jr from “Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels” wants royalties for “Devil with a Blue Dress On”

By Angie Anthony on August 26th, 2008

James McCarty Jr., a guitar player for the band “Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels” filed a law suit to sue Rhino Entertainment for allegedly not paying royalties to “Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels” . “Devil with a Blue Dress On” was released in 1966.

There are several fishy things here. Firstly, it has been may years since the band was last heard about. Secondly, James McCarty, Jr. did not name the other members of the band although he stated he was suing on behalf of the band, “Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.” Thirdly, McCarty has mistakenly stated “Devil with a Blue Dress On” AND “Good Golly, Miss Molly” as two separate songs whereas these two belong to the same song, “Devil with a Blue Dress On.”
