By Therese Lisieux on April 2nd, 2009

James Hines died of skin cancer in 2004. His widow, Ruth Hines, used Cave Funeral Services to buy her husband Hines a coffin. Now, a former worker of the funeral services alleged James Hines was taller than the coffin and the funeral home did something to make Hines’ body fit into the coffin.

The police and coroner in Allendale, South Carolina are investigating the ex employer’s claims. The County officers exhumed Hines’ body and found some evidence. The officers refused to elaborate but the press wrote that Hines’ legs were severed to make his body fit into his coffin.

James Hines’widow, Ruth Hines, said the investigation and allegation has opened fresh wounds for her. Mrs Hines said she was grieving all over again. Mrs Hines said she did question the funeral director about the size of the coffin but she was told the coffin would fit her deceased husband.
