James P Brackin, 31, of Indianapolis, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Brackin was convicted of killing David “Davey” Evans, an IndyCar team mechanic. Brackin and Evans had a fight outside a bar in Indianapolis.

Brackin pleaded guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter. Evans was a crewman with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. Evans died on May 4.
