Jaden Smith, the son of Will Smith, will star in a remake of “The Karate Kid.” The original The Karate Kid was done in 1984 and starred Ralph Macchio. Jaden Smith, 10, has the leading role of The Karate Kid. The new Karate Kid will have its plot drawn from the original but will feature Beijing and other scenic cities. The Karate Kid is a good pilot as the original was followed by two more sequels before the appeal sizzled.

Jaden Smith is the son of Will Smith and his second wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden and his sister Willow Smith, sometimes accompany their parents to Hollywood’s red carpet events like movie premieres. Jaden Smith, at 10, will be a young Karate Kid.
