Jackson Browne sues John McCain for illegal use of “Running on Empty”

Jackson Browne, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, is suing John McCain and the RNC for using his song, “Running on Empty” in a campaign ad without first asking his permission.

Not only that, Jackson Browne is a strong Democrat and he was very angry that McCain and the Republicans falsely credited him with endorsing the Republicans by associating his song with them. JacksonBrowne’s lawyer had filed a lawsuit in L.A. Jackson Brown wants unspecified damages and a permanent injunction to ban the Republicans from using “Running on Empty” or any of Browne’s songs. Browne’s lawyer, Lawrence Iser, said they were confident of victory.
