Israel Weingarten, of Brooklyn, was charged on Monday, Oct 6 for sex crimes. Israel Weingarten was accused of sexual abuse of a minor. The girl is Weingarten’s daughter. Israel Weingarten is accused of incest. Israel Weingarten has been accused of sexually abusing his daughter from her age of 9 – 18. Israel Weingarten moved his wife and 8 children across different countries with Sat Mar communities.

Sat Mar is a conservative sect of Hasidic Judaism. Some members of the Sat Mar communities may have known about the abuse but they helped the girl. The girl broke away from her family and the Sat Mar community and reported her father’s sex abuse to the FBI in 2003.
