Israel Ledesma Moreno & Liberato Vega: Moreno & Vega suspects in Rodriguez’s kidnapping
By Therese Lisieux on May 4th, 2009Updated May 19 – Police have named two men as suspects. Israel Ledesma Moreno, 27, and Liberato Vega, 30, have a history of minor crimes in southern California. Police said there was evidence to implicate Moreno and Vega’s involvement in the kidnapping of Briant Rodriguez.
Updated May 17 – Briant Rodriguez was found in Mexico. Rodriguez was found wandering the streets alone. Mexico’s police eventually connected the dots and thought he might be Rodriguez. Briant’s mother and some agents have flown to Mexico to identify Briant. He has been reunited with his mother.

Briant Rodriguez, 3 years old, was abducted by 2 gunmen from his home in San Bernardino, east of Los Angeles. The armed robbers broke into the family home, tied up Rodriguez’s mother and 5 children. The robbers looted the home and took Rodriguez away when they left.
The gunmen robbed the Rodriguez family of their money and portable property. The two robbers kidnapped Briant, leaving the 4 children behind with their mother. One child managed to get free of the restraints and untied the others. Briant Rodriguez’s mother told police she did not know the gunmen and had no idea why they kidnapped Briant.
Police issued an Amber Alert for Briant Rodriguez. He is 3 years old, 3 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. Briant has brown eyes with long curly brown hair. Briant was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, blue shorts with strips and black colored sandals.
