Inside Edition: Inside Edition Megan Alexander interviews Joseph Petcka
By Clarencia Cynrae on October 2nd, 2008*
Joseph Petcka talked to Inside Edition in a frank interview here. Petcka said he hoped he could do something to show people he loved animals. Inside Edition reporter, Megan Alexander asked Petcka how people could be expected to think he acted in self-defense against a seven pound cat.
Petcka’s lawyer corrected Inside Edition’s Megan Alexander by saying they never said Petcka acted in self-defense. Charles Hochbaum said Petcka had no intent for the cat to suffer. Hochbaum spoke to Inside Edition personally. Joseph Petcka told Inside Edition he knew people doubted him when they thought about him fighting a cat. The hung jury in the trial voted 11 to 1 to convict. One man felt Petcka was innocent. Inside Edition was told by one jury member that one of them felt Petcka was not guilty. Petcka told Inside Edition he was a waiter in between acting jobs. Petcka revealed he received lots of hate mail. Petcka said he was sorry. Inside Edition found out that prosecutors may try to ask for a retrial.
