Hillary Clinton is rumoured to be in the running for Obama’s new Secretary of State. If Obama appoints Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State, that would help healing the deepening rift between Clinton supporters and the rest of the Democrats. At the primary elections, there were 18 million voters for Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton and Obama share a goal of improving the image of the US abroad. Both Obama and Clinton want to change the “failed policies” of the Republican Bush administration. On Thursday, speculation was hot on the possibility of Clinton being a candidate for the Secretary of State post after it was known that she was in Chicago. However, Hillary Clinton aides said she was in Chicago on personal business. There was no official word on the candidacy of the Secretary of State. However, NBC News and The Washington Post went ahead to report that Hillary Clinton was a candidate for one of the highest level posts in the diplomats department.
